The 1st Annual YappoPalooza fundraiser held at Aquarena Springs in San Marcos, Texas on May 21, 2011 was a great success! Approximately 325 people came out to enjoy a beautiful day of music, good food and fun along the banks of the San Marcos river. A special thanks to Aquarena Springs, the Texas Game Warden Association, and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, the Texas Shrimp Association, Land/Water/Sky, White Ghost Ranch and many others for supporting our efforts to benefit the Kemp’s Ridley Sea Turtle Recovery Project. Nearly 50 silent auction items provided a diverse opportunity for folks to enjoy vacation packages all around the state, including guided hunting and fishing trips, historical bed and breakfast stays, and cool artwork and jewelry.
We are now focused on the 6 gun raffle, that will conclude with a drawing on July 1, 2011. Like the YappoPalooza proceeds, all funds realized from the 6 gun auction will go to support the Kemp’s Ridley Recovery Project.
